Why does anyone write. For me, it’s because there are stories inside me that ask to be written, but I don’t always know what they are, or how they’ll finish before I start, so I have to sit there and let the words flow. When I sit in front of a blank screen words appear in my head and suggest themselves, like options. The start of a new story or fanfiction is always exciting because you never know where the muse is going to take you, let alone for how long, or what’s going to happen in the end. Breathtaking.
I love the part of writing when you start a chapter, get into the groove, then stop and realise that an hour or two has passed and you never noticed. Time gets eaten up by the process itself and it’s both amazing and scary. Sometimes I wonder if the clock it messing with me, but it’s not.
I love that side of writing – it’s like watching a movie and never wanting it to end.
